Solvent Reorganization in Long-Range Electron Transfer: Density Matrix Approach
The dynamics of charge transfer from a photoexcited donor to an acceptor coupled through a bridge is investigated by using a correlation-function approach in Liouville space that takes into account solvent dynamics with an arbitrary distribution of time scales. The timeand frequency-resolved fluorescence spectrum from the acceptor is used to probe the scaling of the ET rate with bridge size. Th...
متن کاملLong-range electron transfer.
Recent investigations have shed much light on the nuclear and electronic factors that control the rates of long-range electron tunneling through molecules in aqueous and organic glasses as well as through bonds in donor-bridge-acceptor complexes. Couplings through covalent and hydrogen bonds are much stronger than those across van der Waals gaps, and these differences in coupling between bonded...
متن کاملGeometric Scattering Theory for Long-range Potentials and Metrics
LetX be a compact manifold with boundary, n = dimX , and let x be a boundary defining function, i.e. x ∈ C(X), x ≥ 0, ∂X = {p ∈ X : x(p) = 0}, and dx is not zero at ∂X . We consider the following class of asymptotically flat, complete metrics onX which provide the background for a natural generalization of Euclidian scattering theory, first discussed by Melrose in [13]. A Riemannian metric g in...
متن کاملLong-range potentials for two-species alkali-metal atoms
We address a growing interest in trapping and cooling of mixed-species alkali-metal atoms. Long-range coefficients that arise in the multipole expansion of molecular potentials for unlike alkali-metal dimers are calculated. The coefficients for the heteronuclear alkali-metal dimers corresponding to different molecular symmetries that separate to nS-n8S ,nS-n8P ,nS-n8D , and nP-n8P atomic levels...
متن کاملInverse Scattering at a Fixed Energy for Long - Range Potentials ∗ †
In this paper we consider the inverse scattering problem at a fixed energy for the Schrödinger equation with a long-range potential in R, d ≥ 3. We prove that the long-range part can be uniquely reconstructed from the leading forward singularity of the scattering amplitude at some positive energy.
